The Soca
river
The source of the Soca river
issues forth from the heart of the Julian Alps, near the border
with Italy. The so-called
EMERALD RIVER continues its way along the Trenta
valley, through narrow ravines, to widen for a moment at Bovec,
squeezes narrow again and halts at a lake at Most na Soci.
The Soca river
connects locals and visitors by the water with activites such as
rafting and kayaking.
Note: Rafting on rivers
is very popular since it doesn‘t require any
special skills and is suitable for almost everybody.
The Sava river
The Sava river traverses diagonally
the whole of the country. The longest river in Slovenia
boasts two
springs, in the form of Savica waterfall – Sava
Bohinjka and on a field called Zelenci between Podkoren and Ratece
– Sava Dolinka. Both rivers join at Radovljica
– Sava river.
The upper part of both
rivers hosts rafters and kayakers.
